This policy explains how BOOK IN CHAT PTE. LTD. (UEN 202646792Z) (BookInChat) uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, local storage and scripts) on its website and in its staff web app. Contact: support@bookinchat.com.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies (pixels, tags, local storage) work in similar ways. Some are set by us (first-party); some by other companies (third-party).

2. What we use today

We use essential cookies and similar technologies only. They are always on because the site cannot work securely without them:

Sign-in and security: session and anti-forgery (CSRF) cookies when you use the web app;
Preferences: a cookie that remembers your language;
Network protection and bot checks: Cloudflare security cookies and the Cloudflare Turnstile bot check, which processes your IP address and browser data to tell people from bots. Cloudflare may also use this data to improve its bot detection, as a controller;
Error reports: when a page fails, our error-reporting tool (Sentry) receives technical details so we can fix the problem;
Your cookie choice: our website remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, in your browser's local storage, for about 6 months.

The staff app uses essential cookies only. We do not use advertising cookies, on the website or in the staff app.

3. Analytics cookies on our website: only with your consent

Our website (not the staff app) uses Google Analytics, a service of Google LLC, which processes the data for us as our service provider (processor). It loads only after you click "Accept analytics" in our cookie banner (in English, Bahasa Melayu and 中文). Until you accept, and if you click "Reject", no Google Analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set.

What we measure: the pages you view, how you reached our site (the referring site, search engine or campaign), the source code (ref) of a demo WhatsApp link you click, and general device, browser and approximate location (country or city) data. We use it for aggregate reports only, to learn which pages and sources lead to demo requests. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we do not link analytics to your name, phone number or account.
IP addresses: Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses; Google uses them only to estimate approximate location.
Where: Google may process this data outside Malaysia and Singapore, including in the United States. See our Privacy Policy, section 7.
How long: we keep event-level analytics data for 14 months (our Google Analytics setting), after which Google deletes it; aggregate reports may be kept longer.
Changing your mind: use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page of our website to accept or to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing stops Google Analytics in that browser and deletes its cookies from our site. We ask again after about 6 months.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection of analytics cookies.
Rejecting them will not affect your use of the website, the staff app or the Service.

The cookies Google Analytics sets on our domain after you accept:

_ga (Google Analytics, first-party): distinguishes visitors; expires after 2 years.
_ga_ followed by our Google Analytics property ID (Google Analytics, first-party): keeps the state of your visit (session); expires after 2 years.

4. Advertising cookies: only with your consent

We may add advertising tools that use cookies or track you across websites or over time (for example Meta Pixel or Google Ads) to the website and to the staff app. They stay off until you agree:

Before we add any of them, we will update this policy and add them to our cookie banner, where you will be able to accept or reject them and change your mind at any time through the "Cookie settings" link.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection of advertising cookies.
Rejecting them will not affect your use of the website, the staff app or the Service.

If you agree to advertising cookies, Meta and Google receive information such as your IP address, browser details, pages visited and identifiers, and may use it under their own privacy policies, including to link it to your Meta or Google account.

5. International transfers

Third-party providers may process data outside Singapore and Malaysia, including in the United States. See our Privacy Policy, section 7.

6. Browser controls

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop the site from working.

7. Changes

We will update this policy when we add or change tools.
