This policy will be reviewed by counsel; we will tell you before any change. It forms part of the Terms of Service.
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to every business (Shop) that uses BookInChat, provided by BOOK IN CHAT PTE. LTD. (UEN 202646792Z) (BookInChat), and to everyone the Shop lets use its account. "Customers" means the Shop's own customers and enquirers.
1. Why this policy exists
BookInChat sends messages on the Shop's WhatsApp number to real people. Misuse can harm those people, get the Shop's number banned by Meta, and put the whole service at risk for every other Shop. This AUP sets out what is not allowed.
2. Prohibited businesses
You may not use BookInChat for a business that:
- is unlawful where it operates or where its Customers are, or requires a licence, registration or approval it does not hold (for example a clinic, healthcare establishment, or medical, dental or aesthetic-medical practitioner without the licence required by health regulation, or an unlicensed moneylender);
- sells or promotes prescription-only medicines, controlled drugs, unregistered health products or cosmetics, or injectable or prescription treatments in a way the law does not allow;
- offers sexual services, escort services or adult content, including any service presented as a massage or spa but offering sexual services;
- involves gambling, betting or lotteries, unless licensed and permitted by Meta;
- sells weapons, ammunition, explosives, tobacco, vapes, alcohol or other products restricted under the WhatsApp Business or Meta Commerce Policy;
- involves pyramid or multi-level schemes, "get rich quick" or investment schemes, or the solicitation of deposits or investments;
- trades in counterfeit goods or infringes others' intellectual property;
- is subject to sanctions, or is owned or controlled by a sanctioned person.
3. Prohibited content
You may not use BookInChat (including the AI receptionist, templates, FAQ answers, broadcasts and your profile) to send, store or publish content that:
- makes misleading health, medical or aesthetic claims, including promising that a treatment will heal a condition or will certainly work, claiming that a treatment is safe, free of pain or free of side effects when this is not established, false "doctor-approved" or "clinically proven" claims, misleading comparison photos, or anything prohibited by healthcare advertising rules (for example Singapore's Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations 2021, which restrict comparison photos, endorsements and laudatory statements, and the Malaysian rules on advertising medicines and medical services);
- is false, misleading or deceptive about prices, discounts, deposits, packages, refunds, or the Shop's identity, qualifications or licences;
- harasses, threatens, bullies, intimidates or abuses any person, including through debt-collection pressure;
- is hateful or discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected characteristic, or would breach laws protecting religious or racial harmony;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises minors in any way (we report child sexual abuse material to the authorities);
- contains malware or phishing links, or attempts to obtain passwords, one-time codes or payment card details;
- impersonates another person or business, or falsely claims to be a human when a Customer sincerely asks whether they are talking to an automated system;
- infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights, including posting Customers' personal data or photos without a lawful basis.
4. Prohibited uses
You may not:
- send spam: messages to people who have not opted in to receive them from your business, messages to purchased, rented, scraped or shared contact lists, or messages after a person has opted out;
- ignore an opt-out: once a Customer replies STOP (or otherwise asks to stop), BookInChat stops all automated messages to that Customer (assistant replies, reminders and marketing) until they reply START, and you must not work around this or message them in other ways against their wishes;
- collect sensitive data (health, medical, biometric, identity-document or financial data) through BookInChat without the Customer's explicit consent where the law requires it, or use BookInChat for telemedicine, diagnosis or prescribing;
- use the AI receptionist to give medical, legal or financial advice, or switch off the safety hand-offs BookInChat provides (for example the hand-off of emergencies and clinical questions to staff);
- use BookInChat to deceive Customers, take deposits for services you do not intend to provide, or run fake reviews or endorsements;
- register an account for a business you are not authorised to act for, or give false registration or billing details;
- share account logins between businesses, resell BookInChat, or let a third party use your account except your own staff and advisers;
- attempt to access other Shops' data, probe, scan or test the security of BookInChat, reverse-engineer it, or interfere with its operation;
- scrape, copy or extract BookInChat's software, prompts or AI outputs to build a competing service;
- overload the service or bypass usage limits, rate limits or Meta messaging limits;
- use BookInChat in breach of any law, including the Singapore Spam Control Act 2007, the Do Not Call provisions of the Singapore PDPA, the Malaysian PDPA 2010 (including objections to direct marketing), consumer protection laws and health regulation.
5. Clinics
Automatically sent text never names prescription products by brand. Clinics must approve, in advance, every answer the AI may send about health or treatment (see the AI Use Policy).
6. WhatsApp rules you must follow
BookInChat connects to WhatsApp through the WhatsApp Business Platform, either directly (WhatsApp Cloud API) or via our provider Kapso. Your use must comply with Meta's terms and policies, including the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, the WhatsApp Commerce Policy and the Meta Terms for WhatsApp Business Platform, as updated by Meta. In particular:
- Opt-in. Only message people who have given you their number and agreed to receive messages from your business; keep a record of how and when.
- Opt-out. Respect every request to stop, on or off WhatsApp.
- Templates and the service window. Business-initiated messages outside the customer-service window must use approved templates and the correct category (marketing, utility, authentication).
- Health information. Do not send or request health-related information where applicable regulations prohibit it.
- Commerce restrictions. Do not offer products or services prohibited by the Commerce Policy (including prescription drugs, medical and healthcare products where restricted, and adult products and services).
- Quality. Keep complaint and block rates low. Meta can limit, restrict or disable your number; BookInChat cannot override Meta's decisions.
7. Reporting misuse
Report misuse, spam or unsafe content to support@bookinchat.com with "AUP report" in the subject. Customers who receive unwanted messages can reply STOP or contact the Shop or BookInChat.
8. Enforcement
If you breach this AUP, BookInChat may take the steps in clause 12 of the Terms of Service: written notice and 10 days to fix the problem (5 business days for spam or a breach of WhatsApp messaging policy); immediate suspension only to prevent serious harm, where the law requires it, or where your WhatsApp number risks being restricted; a person reviews any automated suspension within 1 business day; and you can appeal by email. BookInChat may also remove or disable specific content (for example pause a template or FAQ answer) while it reviews a report. You remain responsible for your content and for complying with the law.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP to reflect changes in law, Meta policy or the service. We will give at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email, except where a change is required sooner by law or Meta policy. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
